Over the last few years we have, independently and more recently together, become tired of hearing people moan that to be green is too expensive. We think our (very low income!) lifestyle proves the opposite, and we are starting this blog to show how we live.
Over the last couple of years, living together, we have cemented many of our views on green living, sustainability and living a simple life not totally dependant on material belongings. We found that changing our lifestyle to be greener did not mean spending more, instead we found that giving up the things that often felt (to us) rather empty and meaningless, liberated us to spend money on the things that make a difference to our health and happiness and to the environment. But spending less also liberated us by letting us earn less, giving us more time to spend doing the things we love… watching the garden grow, dreaming in the bath and remembering that there is untold magic in everyday moments.
Since becoming a couple we have gradually made changes to the way we live, work, eat and travel. Over the next posts we will start to tell you our story and also what may be to come…
